We are a small family run business established in 2001. We are a 64 place nursey offering a warm and friendly home from home environment for children aged 3months - 5years. Our Nursery is made up of three playrooms the small world, Junior room and Pre-School room.

We also have a soft play area and a well equipped outdoor space for children to explore, learn and play.

We also offer a wide range of daily activities including arts and crafts, singing, sensory play, messy and heuristic play, music & movement play, physical play, dancing, home baking, local walks, forest walks and much much more.


 Opening Times and sessions 

We are open 50 weeks of the year, closing for two weeks over the Christmas & new year period.

Our opening times are:

Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm

7:30am start is available upon request and availability 

Our sessions are:

Full day: 8am - 6pm

Morning session: 8am - 1pm

Afternoon session: 1pm - 6pm

Breakfast, Lunch, and afternoon snack are provided in the price of the session.

  Nappies and wipes are also included.

Our Location 

. We are located in the heart of Newtongrange, just a short distance from the Scottish Mining Museum, and not far from the Borders Railway. We're just off the Edinburgh city bypass with Vogrie Country Park and Dalkeith Country Park nearby. We also have the local Newtongrange park and library right on our doorstep.

At Wizkidz our role is to work in partnership with you, establishing excellent relationships that connect your child's home and family life together to meet their needs and offer support to reach their full potential.

We work in partnership with Midlothian council and offer funded places for Early years.  

We aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum in line with national guidelines, guiding the children in becoming confident individuals, successful learners, responsible citizens and effective contributors in their own environment.
